LIVE 15th AUGUST 2008
Brendan Grace, legendary Irish comedian, plays the Feile Chamlocha Marquee on Friday, the 15th of August 2008
As seen from his brilliant cameo on Father Ted a few years ago, Brendan Grace is still a wonderful comedic talent who can stand tall among the new young guns emerging on the comedy scene.
A man who holds a special place in the Irish comic imagination if only for his hilarious Dublin schoolboy character Bottler, Brendan Grace will bring the house down when he takes to the stage at Feile Chamlocha 2008!
Brendan Grace is hailed as Ireland's ambassador of comedy with three decades of making people laugh not only in Ireland but also in venues around the world. Grace has brought his infectious brand of stand-up to London's Albert Hall, New York's Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Festival Theatre and always sent them home laughing.
In 1991, Brendan Grace was booked to entertain Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Liza Minelli at a private show for the stars. The trio were boiled over by Graces' irreverent Dublin wit and Sinatra booked Grace to appear on his European tour.
Brendan Grace subsequently became a big comic attraction in the US in the '90s and resided for most of the year in Florida with his wife and children. The recent acquisition of a pub in Killaloe in County Clare has seen Grace spending more time back in Ireland.
It's worth the entry price alone to see his classic routines of a drunken father's speech at his daughter's wedding where the groom gets a bit of pasting. Don't miss this chance to catch Brendan Grace at Feile Chamlocha 2008!
A massive success in Ireland in the '70s and '80s, Grace even enjoyed a number one hit in the UK hit with his own song, Combine Harvester and drifted into the annals of Cockney rhyming slang as a term for face.
